Moraira has changed from a group of fishermen's cottages into an internationally know residential area. The village has grown to include low rise apartment properties and a short seafront promenade that runs from the yacht club to the old watchtower.

Moraira's first urbanization was Pla del Mar situated on a low hillside overlooking the town and harbour and with fine views of the Moraira-Benissa coast with the Calpe Peñon in the distance. For many years Pla del Mar and El Portet have been favourite places for Valencian holiday homes with visitors driving down to their properties at the weekends. Now Moraira is more international with residents from throughout Europe. Pla del Mar properties have some wonderful old gardens and surprisingly quiet streets for being so close to Moraira centre.

El Portet is a short distance from Moraira along the coastal road, and has its own beach and small urban area. The villas and bungalows located on the promontory of Cap d'Or have some of the best views of the Mediterranean. Private properties continue along the access road Cami de la Viuda joining the Arnella, Paichi and Alcasar urban areas in the Benitachell direction. Arnella is a rocky valley with beautiful views and is not much developed. Groups of villas are located among the original vineyards and almond groves. The area has a very rustic atmosphere while still  being close to Moraira and Benitachell.

The two halves of Moraira are separated by a wide valley devoted to the traditional vineyards of Teulada. At one point this broad valley is crossed by an access road  extending urbanization Sabatera with its tennis club and shopping center. For the most part, Sabatera includes private villas with swimming pools and similarly to the rest of Moraira many villas date from the 1970's. The neighboring urban areas are Tabaira, Benimeit and Pinar de L'Avocat. The typical urban areas of Moraira are forested with pine trees.

Moraira-Calpe along the coastal road.  The Urbanization of San Jaime and the entrance to San Jaime Golf Club can be found at the highest point (the Pepe La Sal supermarket), opposite the entrance to urbanization Cap Blanc . San Jaime was founded by the company Villarasil SA Madrid and aims to provide  high quality urban areas with street lights, wide roads, golf and tennis. San Jaime continues to be one of the best urbanization of the Costa Blanca and is valued accordingly. Across the coastal road, the Cap Blanc urbanization is heavily wooded and can be rather dark until you reach the top of the cliff with spectacular views and millionaire villas.

Partidas Fanadix and Moravit and can be found on the coastal road behind San Jaime. They include very private villas located in wooded streets with pine trees and with a number of bungalow developments. Cami d' Andrago connects Moravit of urbanization and Fanadix and reaches the sea at Cala d'Andrago.
